Both David and I have lived in Athens for well over 25 years, and while we knew of each other, we had really never met. Difficult life changes steered both of us down a path neither of us knew would intersect. We couldn't be any happier to have found each other. 

On Christmas Eve of last year, during our present exchange, David presented to me a box the size of a tissue box. It was a large enough box that I was perplexed. He would normally have bought me jewelry but the box looked too big. As I began to unwrap there was a smaller box wrapped in Aurum Jewelry Paper. Ah, I thought, he tricked me. He got me earrings because he knows I never leave the house without them. I slowly unwrapped the box and then opened the lid of the little box. There were no earrings in the box but instead a beautiful vintage style engagement ring, and as I begin to process what he had given me, he asked me to be his wife and live out our lives together. Of course I said "yes."
